Has the MeToo accused director Sajid Khan made a quiet comeback in his sister Farah Khan’s soon-to-be-made Satte Pe Satta? Reports coming in from reliable sources suggest that Sajid is indeed working on the screenplay of the remake of Satte Pe Satta, and this is why Hrithik Roshan had second thoughts about doing the film. Says a source in the know, “Hrithik was all but finalised to take over Bachchan Saab’s role in Satte Pe Satta. But then Hrithik came to know of Sajid’s involvement with the project. And he gently backed out.”
Last year Sajid Khan was sacked from directing Housefull 4 after accusations of sexual misconduct cropped up repeatedly. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and leading man Akshay Kumar had taken a collective stand against employing Sajid Khan. It is unlikely that any major actor would want to be associated with a project that has Sajid Khan on board. The actor’s latest film opposite Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor, War, released earlier this year and has been crunching big numbers at the box office ever since. After War, Hrithik was rumoured to be playing the lead in Amitabh Bachchan’s remake of Satte Pe Satta. While no confirmations have been made yet, Hrithik has asked the makers to rework the script.
Earlier, reports shared that Hrithik has asked for some changes in the script so that his character can stand out when he shares screen space with at least 7 other characters. Reports state that his character will be much meatier than Amitabh’s in the 1982 classic. A source close to the film’s team shared, “The A-listers no longer want to do multi-starrers. Gone are the days when Bachchan shared scenes with Sachin, Ranjeet, Sudhir and others in Satte Pe Satta; now Hrithik won’t do a 7-character story unless his character stands out. Sure, he did war with Tiger Shroff, but that was a one-off face-off film taken on after much persuasion from Aditya Chopra.”
